Celebrating its twenty-fifth year anniversary, Lehigh Valley Comic Convention returned to the Allentown Fairgrounds Agri-Plex and, for the first time, expanded to a two-day event. In an odd ticket pricing scheme, fans could buy a Sunday-only ticket for $10, but Saturday attendees were required to purchase a two-day ticket (for $20).
Once inside, fans found a show floor filled with vendors of comics and related pop culture products, comic creators, media talent, and a pair of large movie-inspired vehicles.
Primarily a comics-focused event, the show floor had a larger proportion of comic book vendors than many other media-oriented cons, like the previous weekend’s Fan Expo Philadelphia.
The show’s Artist Alley hosted comics writers and artists including ElfQuest creators Richard and Wendy Pini, Strange Planet creator Nathan W. Pyle, artists Jim Balent, Holly Golightly, Joe Staton, Bob McLeod, and many others.
Media talent was largely represented by voice actors, with a few notable exceptions — like renowned actor William Sadler, whose credits include The Shawshank Redemption, The Green Mile, and The Mist, and as well as the role of President Matthew Ellis in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
